The Instituto Não Accepted Corruption criticized this Tuesday (4) the attempt by leftist parties, part of the base of the Lula government, to suspend the fines that contractors committed to pay to the National Treasury, due to the acts of corruption that they confessed to practicing. at Petrobras. PCdoB, Solidariedade and Psol argue in the Federal Supreme Court (STF) that the companies were allegedly coerced by the Federal Public Ministry (STF) to sign leniency agreements.

The entity classified the questioning of the subtitles to the agreements as “unreasonable and unfounded”. “The postulation is absolutely unreasonable in the eyes of the Law, as well as the idea of intending that contractors see their obligations extinguished through works without carrying out prior biddings”, said the institute, in a note. For the entity, the agreements were duly ratified by the STF, and therefore “no longer subject to questioning, acquiring full validity and absolute legal certainty”.

In addition, the Instituto Não Accept Corrupção pointed out that the contractors were represented “by the best law firms in the country”. The entity also reinforced that the country is a signatory to the OECD convention, which provides that “it is inadmissible not to punish corruption under the negligent allegation of damage to the economic production chain”. The institute argues that the agreements sanctioned by the STF “must be respected and honored”.
