Enem 2023: Paraná requests postponement of the test due to floods – 10/31/2023 – Education

The government of Paraná asked Inep, the MEC body responsible for Enem, to postpone the administration of the exam in 30 cities in the state that are in a state of emergency due to heavy rains in the region.

The Enem is administered on two Sundays and, this year, it is scheduled for the 5th (human sciences, languages ​​and writing) and 12th (natural sciences and mathematics) of November.

The letter was sent by the Secretary of Education of Paraná, Roni Miranda, on Tuesday night (31), to the president of Inep, Manuel Fernando Palacios da Cunha e Melo.

In total, according to the ministry, around 50 thousand students in the third year of high school in Paraná signed up to take the Enem.

In the document, the secretary attaches a report from the State Civil Defense that shows that more than 145 municipalities were affected, affecting more than 185 thousand people.

According to the secretary, in the 30 municipalities that have a declared emergency situation, there are schools that are flooded or that are serving as accommodation for homeless families.

Miranda also cites travel problems, with roads and streets closed due to landslides and flooding.

A Sheet the secretary of Paraná stated that he believes that his request will be met, especially since Inep has agreed to reschedule the test for December students who were allocated to take the exam at a school more than 30 km from their homes. According to Inep, there are 50 thousand students in this situation, 1% of the total enrolled, who will be able to register for new dates.

Asked about the request for postponement from the Government of Paraná, Inep stated, through its press office, that the request is under analysis.
