Current two-time Olympic champion, the Brazilian team debuted with victory in the pre-Olympic football tournament in Venezuela, where it is seeking its place in the Paris Games. With a goal from Endrick, the Canarian team beat Bolivia, 1-0, on Tuesday afternoon (23).

The green-yellow team had only a regular performance, with a slight improvement in the second half. The goal, scored three minutes into the opening half, after a rush from the Palmeiras player, was one of the few inspirational moves from Ramon Menezes’ men.

Defender Michel, at nine minutes, and Endrick, at 25, found the net in the second half, but the moves ended up being canceled for offside.

Brazil thus added its first three points in Group A, which also includes Ecuador, Venezuela and Colombia. The team will return to the field on Friday (26), when they will face Colombia, in Caracas, at 8 pm (Brasília time).

The tournament is played with two groups, each with five teams. The best two in each group advance to the final quadrangular, from which only the first two guarantee a place in the Olympic games. In Group B are Peru, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Chile.
