Federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) will launch a movement on April 16 to spread conservative ideas and combat an alleged predominance of the left in areas such as universities, the press and cultural media.
Named Conservative Training, it will begin as an online event. “Although the conservatives have awakened and are the majority, Brazil continues to be dominated by a minority that has no scruples, but that has more than 100 years of organization”, says the presentation text.
The son of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) is described as a leader “recognized for his positions in defense of the family, Christian values and individual freedoms”.
He claims, in a video calling for the event, that winning elections is not enough to conquer political power. “It is necessary to form people capable of retaking spaces not only in politics, but mainly in culture”, he says.
It is not the first time that the former president’s son seeks to create initiatives for the formation of new conservative leaders.
He is president of the ICL (Conservative-Liberal Institute), which emerged in 2021 to organize seminars and courses aimed at spreading right-wing ideas. He also brought to Brazil a version of Cpac, the main right-wing conference in the US.
