Current champions, Flamengo defends the title against Athletico-PR, in a rerun of the 2022 Libertadores final, won by the red-black team. Corinthians, on the other hand, faces América-MG. Grêmio, in turn, will rival Bahia, which left Santos behind.
The draw made this Tuesday also defined the starting point for the Copa do Brasil until the grand final. The quarterfinal games are expected to be played between July 5th and 12th.
The matches will be in a round trip format, with a decision on penalties if the sum of the scores ends in a tie. Goals scored away from home are no longer used as a tiebreaker for matches.
