Social Project ‘Carlos Galeno Teen’ holds internal championship this Saturday (10) – News of Brazil

On June 10th, the social project ‘Teen Carlos Galeno’ will be holding an internal championship, with the aim of selecting three athletes to compete in the Brazilian stage, in Belém, on June 17th and 18th. In all, 55 athletes aged between 07 and 17 years old will be participating in the internal competition.
According to the coach, Carlos Barbosa, the project is a way to help children in social vulnerability and is reaping the fruits of the work that has been carried out since 2017, in the Cidade Nova neighborhood and surroundings.
“On May 27th and 28th, we participated in the Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro (AJP) Tour and won 10 medals, seven gold and three silver. This is a very big step forward for our state, for our project, as we had never competed in an external championship before. This is the result of a lot of work with these children”said the coach.
Carlos asks for help so that he can travel with his athletes, considering that round-trip tickets are only given to children. “I wanted to ask for help so I could buy my ticket and be with my students. If anyone wants to help me, just contact me at (96) 99181-8735he said.
Currently, the sports social project receives support from the Court of Justice of Amapá (TJAP), through the State Coordination for Childhood and Youth of the State of Amapá (CEIJ), whose coordinator is Judge Gilberto Pinheiro. Recently, the organ delivered 10 tatami mats and 26 kimonos.
The Carlos Galeto Teen Project is located at the Divina Misericórdia Community Center, in the Cidade Nova neighborhood. In addition to Jiu-Jitsu, the initiative offers other martial arts such as Muay Thay, Boxing, Judo and MMA.
