On Sunday (9), the Macapá Summer 2023 program brought together countless people in the Fazendinha neighborhood, with musical and sports attractions. Throughout the afternoon, the Municipal Department of Sport and Leisure (Semel) promoted Beach Tennis and awarded the winning team of the 40-day Summer Challenge.
At Beach Tennis, around 23 pairs of athletes participated in the competition that awarded R$300 reais to the first place and R$200 to the runner-up pair, and gold and silver medals. One of the news this Sunday was Queimadão.
“Queimadão Beach Misto was held for the first time in Macapá Verão and is an inclusive modality that, in addition to receiving female and male audiences, welcomed the LGBTQIAPN+ population. It is a sport for everyone, Macapá Summer is for everyone”said the Macapá Sports Secretary, Bruno Igreja.
Seven teams with eight members participated. The Zerão Team was the champion in the category and won 500 Reais. There were also distribution of trophies and medals to the other members.
Then, the 40 Days Weight Loss Summer Challenge took place. During the period, the groups received guidance on physical activity and food practices, by a commission made up of nutritionists and physical educators from Semel. Competitors were monitored and weighed. The criterion for choosing the winner was the team that lost the most body fat.
“Winning this award was very challenging, not because of the cash prize, but because of the challenge of each one. We had obstacles. It was one lifting the other. It was a big shock, because we thought we weren’t going to win, because there were so many competitors. The greatest gratification is the life we are going to lead.”said Nathally Brunna, member of the winning team of the 40-day challenge, ‘Unidos Venceremos’.
