The deputy states that the state of Amazonas receives less than the national average from MAC (Medium and High Complexity Financing) resources.

Manaus (AM) – From the tribune of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Amazonas (Aleam), state deputy Dr. George Lins (União Brasil) presented, this Wednesday (03), a set of possible solutions for the problem that Municipal Governments in the interior have been facing in order to maintain the management of their hospitals. The difficulty, according to the parliamentarian, is due to the little resource transferred to the municipalities.

doctor George Lins pointed out that dialogue is necessary to resolve this problem, a dialogue involving the participation of the State Government, the Amazonian Association of Municipalities (AAM) and members of the Bipartite Intermanaging Commission (CIB) and the Council of Municipal Secretariats for Health (COSEMS) so that municipalities in the interior can pay for the operation of their hospital units.

According to the deputy, the state of Amazonas receives less than the national average from MAC resources (Financing of Medium and High Complexity), where the country average is R$ 223.52 and the average in the state of Amazonas is R$ 145.53, when it comes to resources transferred to the State Health Fund, that is, the portion received by the State Government. With the resources passed on to municipalities, the value is R$ 92.99, that is, a difference of R$ 130.53 less than the national average.

Deputy Dr. George Lins suggests, as possible solutions to correct inequalities, the revision of the MAC Ceiling passed on to the state, the renegotiation of the division of MAC percentages between state and municipalities and the resumption of transfers from the FTI (Fund for the Promotion of Tourism, Infrastructure, Service and Interiorization of the Development of the State of Amazonas) to the municipalities of the interior.

“I reinforce the importance of dialogue on these matters. First, at the Federal level, with a referral to the Bancada do Amazonas in the National Congress seeking the revision of the values ​​of the MAC Amazonas ceiling. At the State level, a dialogue with the participation of all those involved with the theme so that we can seek a fairer division to relieve the city halls in the interior of our state. Finally, I suggest the resumption of FTI transfers, on an ongoing basis, to inland municipalities”, highlighted the parliamentarian.

Separately, deputies Wilker Barreto (Citizenship) and Alessandra Campêlo (PSC) reinforced the importance of dialogue to urgently resolve the serious issue of managing hospitals in the interior.

Deputy Thiago Abrahim (União Brasil) highlighted the case of Itacoatiara, where medium and high complexity is funded by the City Hall. “Itacoatiara is a pole municipality, where the mayor spends more than R$ 1 million on the medical sheet alone, has an anesthetist 24 hours a day, surgeons 24 hours a day, but is unable to continue to pay for the average complexity in the municipality”, highlighted the colleague of União Brasil.
