Djokovic beats Medvedev and wins the US Open for the fourth time

The Serbian Novak Djokovic won, this Sunday (10), in New York, for the fourth time the title of US Openby defeating the Russian Daniel Medvedevby 3 sets to 0, with partials of 6/3, 7/6 (7/5) and 6/3, in 3h17 of play.

First placed in the world rankings, Djokovic, in his tenth final in New York, won his 24th Grand Slam title, equaling the mark of the legendary Margaret Court.

Djokovic managed a break of service at the first opportunity and took a 2/0 lead. He then confirmed his serve to make it 3/0 and maintained the advantage until the end.

In the second set, the balance was even greater. Both tennis players had to work hard to maintain their serve. A good example of this difficulty was the eighth game, when Medvedev needed 13 minutes to avoid Djokovic’s break. In the tenth game, the Serb got into an argument with his coaches, positioned close to the court.

But pressure is not something that hinders the performance of such high-level tennis players. In the 11th game, Djokovic won a rally and celebrated a lot. Next, Medvedev got an ace and closed at 6/5. Before confirming the serve and taking the second set to a tie-break, Djokovic had to overcome a set point from Medvedev

The tie-break was full of sensational exchanges, which brought the audience to their feet. Djokovic won 7;5 and opened 2 sets to 0.

The third set started slower in the first three games, then the tennis players resumed their blistering pace. Djokovic broke two serves and had one broken to win 6/3 and close out the match.
