Dino says he will not fire secretaries who received the wife of a Comando Vermelho leader

The Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino, stated this Thursday (16) that he will not fire his secretaries who received Luciane Barbosa Farias, wife of the leader of Comando Vermelho (CV) in Amazonas, at the ministry’s headquarters. He stressed that if he fired his advisors “unfairly” he would be “demoralized”. For Dino, the scandal “is a political despair of those who are dissatisfied with the fight against organized crime that we are doing”.
“Did the secretaries who received it commit any illegal act? Did the secretaries commit any crime? What did they supposedly benefit the Red Command? You need to have a little responsibility and seriousness. I have command of my team, I trust my team and I do not dismiss the secretary unfairly, because if I did that, the person who would be demoralized would not be the secretary, it would be me”, said the minister in an official agenda in Ceará.
Luciene participated in hearings with Elias Vaz, National Secretary for Legislative Affairs, and with Rafael Velasco Brandani, head of the National Secretariat for Penal Policies (Senappen). She accompanied lawyer Janira Rocha, who was a deputy for Psol, at the meetings.
“Sometimes a mayor has a hearing, and the hearing belongs to the mayor. However, at the time of the hearing, eight people enter with the mayor. The deputies all know this. What will you do? Will it stop? Will you stop it? Why? It’s a public building. There is no presumption of guilt, there is a presumption of innocence”, said the minister. Dino stated that he cannot control his secretaries’ schedules and said again that he never met with Luciene.
