In an intense agenda of commitments for Amapá, this week, senator Davi Alcolumbre (AP), coordinator of the federal bench, participated, this Thursday (16), in the announcement ceremony of R$ 22 million – plus a counterpart of R$ 2 million from the government of Amapá, articulated by the parliamentarian himself – for the paving of important roads in the municipality of Oiapoque, in the north of the state. This is considered the largest urban mobility plan in the municipality. In addition to asphalt paving with drainage and sidewalks, the project includes horizontal and vertical signage for 31 roads in the city, plus the Vila Vitória Branch, totaling approximately 15 kilometers in length.
For Alcolumbre, the paving of 31 important streets in the municipality will be fundamental to improving urban mobility, boosting tourism, contributing to regional development and generating employment and income for the local population, in addition to increasing the economy through agricultural flow. , agriculture and commerce in the region. “On our part, we remain willing to continue working until our state’s biggest dreams are realized,” stressed the senator.
In the district of Clevelândia do Norte, the asphalt paving of more than four kilometers of streets is already nearing completion. The work is expected to be completed in December this year. With more than a hundred years of existence, the district of Clevelândia do Norte has strategic relevance for guaranteeing national sovereignty as it is located on the banks of the Oiapoque River, on the border between Brazil and French Guiana. “This is a project that has been awaited for years, it is a historic desire of the residents of the Cleveland district. From now on, we can be sure that we will deliver, through this paving, a better quality of life and well-being, more socioeconomic development for the people who live here”, celebrated the senator.
Both the resources for the Clevelândia project and for the paving of the roads – worth R$ 4.5 million – were articulated by Senator Davi, via the Ministry of Integration and Regional Development (MIDR), who forwarded the necessary resources to the Development Company of Vales do São Francisco and Parnaíba (Codevasf) to hire an engineering company specialized in paving works.

Another announcement for the municipality of Oiapoque was the authorization to launch the bidding notice for hiring the company that will begin the asphalt paving of Ramal do Manga, one of the largest villages in the region, home to more than 10 thousand indigenous people. Just like in Cleveland do Norte, Senator Davi articulated the resources for both the project (around R$500,000) and for the execution of the work – almost R$13 million. According to the senator, this is another historic demand from the original peoples of Oiapoque to resolve the great mobility difficulties of the thousands of Amapá people who live in the Uaça indigenous land. All asphalting will be carried out by Codevasf.
Present at the meeting, the minister of integration and regional development, Waldez Góes, recognized Senator Davi’s effort and commitment to make paving in Oiapoque a reality. “All these works also represent job and income generation, quality for the people of Oiapoque, in addition to working for the municipality’s vocations,” he added.
The Manga Extension to be paved connects the Manga village (on the banks of the Curipi river) to BR-156, the access highway to Oiapoque and Macapá. Aldeia do Manga is the connection point with all the dozens of villages located on the Uaça indigenous land, which can only be accessed by boat. The work should be completed between July and December 2024 and will feature deep drainage (placement of shackles at the lowest points), surface drainage (gutter, curb and water drop), horizontal and vertical signage and public sidewalk in the area village residential.
Governor Clécio Luís celebrated the fact that his administration, together with the federal bench, is giving the start to carry out the largest urban project in Oiapoque. “There are more than 30 villages that will be impacted by a better quality of life in both social and economic aspects. We hope that next summer we will have the work in full swing, delivering this great announcement to the population”, said the governor.
During the extensive agenda in Oiapoque, Senator Davi was also accompanied by the president of the Legislative Assembly of Amapá, Alliny Serrão; Mayor Euclimar; federal deputy Vinicius Gurgel; the president of Codevasf, Marcelo Moreira; in addition to state deputies and councilors.
