The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flávio Dino, said this Monday (4th) that the government has mobilized to prevent the acts of January 8 from taking place during the September 7 celebrations, at the Esplanada dos Ministérios, in Brasilia.
“So far, there is no objective indication that 9/7 is marked by any kind of attack. Unfortunately, there are cards on the internet, and this requires follow-up”, said the minister during the launch event of the Security Action Program and the National Program for Public Security with Citizenship (Pronasci 2), in Espírito Santo.
According to the minister, the existing threats are still “something residual”. “If there is a person who peacefully protests, of course, he is in the regulated exercise of the law. But we will not allow a repeat of the terrible events of the 8th of January,” he added.
Even though there is no confirmed threat, Dino anticipated that the federal government has already activated the security forces and intelligence services to plan the security of the event.
In joint meetings with the government of the Federal District, it was agreed, for example, that the PMDF will set up search barriers for people who attend the event. The Integrated Action Plan (PAI) also provides for the closure of roads to organize the event and the presence of specialized battalions to deal with possible conflict situations, such as the Shock Troops.
Estimates indicate that the PT government spent more than BRL 3 million just on the structure and organization of the celebrations in the expectation of attracting at least 30,000 people and unlinking the September 7th holiday of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL). To make the civic parade a failure for the Lula government, opposition parliamentarians published campaigns on the networks asking that families not attend the Esplanada dos Ministérios.
