“More Innovation” notice offered more than 270 places in Basic Programming and Games Market courses

Manaus (AM) – The electronic games market in Amazonas has stood out in the Brazilian scenario. Manaus City Hall, through the Municipal Department of Labor, Entrepreneurship and Innovation (Semtepi), has invested in initiatives that boost the game programming sector, through courses and events that strengthen the ecosystem. These actions consolidate the city as an important hub in the game development industry, promoting innovation and offering opportunities for professionals in the field.

In 2023, the “More Innovation” notice offered more than 270 places in Basic Programming and Games Market courses, using resources from the Municipal Fund for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (Fumipeq). The classes were conducted in person, in partnership with the Amazonian E-Sports Federation (Faesp).

“These initiatives aim to expand understanding of the technology market, which is constantly growing, especially among young entrepreneurs. We believe that, through them, professional interest in the areas of innovation will be boosted. Committed to evolving according to the demands of the sector, we will continue to promote new editions of already established courses, seeking to train professionals at more advanced levels”,

stated Semtepi secretary, Radyr Júnior.

According to data from the Game Brasil Survey (PGB – 10 years), developed by the Sioux Group and Go Games in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Mexico with more than 14 thousand participants, 58.6% of respondents believe that the Brazilian games offer good opportunities for work and career. Among the career options, the biggest insights are in the areas of content creation and streaming; Publication; marketing and programming.

Technology student, João Luiz, states that the “More Innovation” courses emerged as an accessible opportunity to enter the games market. From this, the participant has already created two teams for game development, namely: “The Noobs”, which secured 3rd place in the game creation competition during the “Amazon Tecnogame 2023” event; and “Spirit”, which is currently participating in the Game Jam competition.

“I participated in an incredible course that not only provided me with new knowledge, but also connected me to inspiring people and opened doors to incredible opportunities. I believe in the importance of bringing initiatives like this to our city, as games transcend the category of mere pastime; they represent an engaging way to express affection and love. I hope that, from now on, the gaming area will gain even greater relevance in Manaus”,

highlighted the entrepreneur.

According to the PGB – 10 years survey, in recent years, women have dominated the consumption of digital games, mainly due to the strong presence in smartphones and casual games. Currently, they represent 46.2% of the public. Fabrícia Ádria is one of the entrepreneurs who started her business from the games market course. Creator of four game prototypes in development: Coelho Rosa; Elly⋆ Involved; and The Bull, the student discovered a favorable environment to guarantee income and consolidate her career.

“Despite having training in aesthetics and cosmetology, I never worked effectively in this area. I have always identified more with design, art and programming. Surprisingly, this course opened up opportunities for me faster than I imagined,”

added Fabrícia.

The Semtepi owner highlighted that, for 2024, the 3rd edition of the “More Innovation” notice will include a marathon of courses aimed at the gaming ecosystem. The objective is to show the potential of Manaus developers throughout Brazil.

“We will launch the new course schedule for this year in the coming weeks. This is an opportunity for all audiences who have a strong tendency to stand out in the market. This initiative is 100% free”,

stated Radyr.
