According to data released by Ticket, a meal voucher and food voucher company, dessert represents 24.5% of the amount spent on a complete meal, with lunch, drink, dessert and coffee. The +Valor Survey, carried out by the company, analyzed more than 4,500 food establishments throughout Brazil and concluded that dessert has a national average price of R$11.44. In meals with just lunch and drinks, dessert accounts for 38.9% of spending.

The research, which used data from more than 7 million users of Ticket services, shows that establishments specializing in coffee and sweets are the 6th most visited category by workers, with an average spend of R$34.90.

“It is a clear picture of how important the benefit is in the composition of team meal expenses. The research also provides information that helps workers better guide their consumption behavior, with the aim of choosing items that can eventually contribute to making their balance last longer”, comments Natália Ghiotto, product director at Ticket.
