Deputy Duarte Jr. (PSB-MA) filed requests with the CPI das Pirâmides Financeiras to break the confidentiality of Decolar and its partners and also to summon them to testify as witnesses at the parliamentary commission of inquiry.

In the justification, he says that Decolar’s breach of confidentiality seeks to “clarify allegations that the company was involved in financial pyramid activities, protect consumers and guarantee the integrity of the travel and tourism market.”

In testimony to the CPI on Wednesday (6), Ramiro Júlio Soares Madureira, one of the partners of 123milhas, said that the president of Despegar, owner of Decolar, tried to buy the Brazilian company, which filed for judicial recovery after suspending packages and issuing airline tickets from the “Promo” line.

In an interview with Brazil Journal, Damián Scokin, CEO of Despegar, stated that 123milhas was a Ponzi scheme — a financial pyramid.

The parliamentarian also asked for the confidentiality of the company Caeli Publicidade, which has Ramiro’s father and his brother Augusto Júlio Soares Madureira as one of its partners. Duarte Jr. also filed a request to break the confidentiality of Baldomiro José dos Santos, Sergio de Moraes Filho, José Augusto Madureira and Renata Jardim Simões, partners at Caeli.

In the justification, the deputy says that the request is part of “investigation to clarify possible irregular practices, conflicts of interest and links between the two companies that may have contributed to the situation in question.”
