Funds will be used for therapies carried out during specialized activities

With the aim of promoting the protection and access of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), state deputy Delegado Péricles (PL) allocated resources to the Instituto Autismo de Parintins Isadora Tupinambá (IAPIN) for the acquisition of materials and inputs that will be used in therapies carried out in the institute’s specialized services.

In total, the deputy allocated R$100,000 to the Instituto Autismo de Parintins Isadora Tupinambá, arising from a parliamentary amendment, to carry out psychomotor activities at the institute. The deputy highlighted the importance of the work done by IAPIN in Parintins, in supporting and monitoring children diagnosed with ASD.

“The Institute does important work in the inclusion and adaptation of people with ASD and carrying out actions that reduce prejudice and that allow people with this condition to have more autonomy in all environments is fundamental”,

declared Pericles.

IAPIN

The Institute is named after Isadora Tupinambá, daughter of the Parintins councilor, Babá Tupinambá (PDT), diagnosed with autism and who died at just two years old after drowning in April 2021. The girl became a symbol of the struggle of autistic people in Parintins.

The Instituto Autismo de Parintins Isadora Tupinambá provides specialized services in the areas of health, social assistance and education for children and their families on the island of Tupinambarana.
