The future Minister of Justice, Ricardo Lewandowski, stated this Thursday (11) that public safety will be a priority in his administration. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) announced this morning that the retired minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) will replace Flávio Dino. Lewandowski highlighted that public security is a “big challenge” in the country.
“I understand the issue of public security as an absolute priority for the country and for the Ministry of Justice and which, today, represents a great challenge. This attention, of course, will be done in absolute respect with what the Federal Constitution says, with regard to shared responsibility between the federative entities”, said the retired STF minister in an interview with the newspaper The globe.
He stated that he intends to continue public policies developed by his predecessor in the ministry. In February, Dino will assume the position of minister of the Supreme Court. “I am against the discontinuity of public policies, so I will continue on a path without ruptures with what was being developed by minister Flávio Dino, who surrounded himself with a competent technical team”, he highlighted.
Lewandowski will be appointed on the 19th, and will take office on February 1st. “I want to participate and help in the construction of a more fair, harmonious and supportive country project. I intend to make my contribution”, said the next Minister of Justice.
