Dengue: SP has 22 deaths and 110,636 confirmed cases – 02/28/2024 – Health

The state of São Paulo records 22 deaths from dengue, according to data from the São Paulo State Department of Health monitoring panel.
The deaths were registered in the municipalities of Bebedouro (1), Bauru (1), Pederneiras (2), Campinas (1), São Paulo (2), Franca (1), Marília (3), Guarulhos (1), Suzano ( 1), Embu-Guaçu (1), Batatais (1), Ribeirão Preto (1), Parisi (1), Pindamonhangaba (2), Taubaté (2) and Tremembé (1).
Also according to the secretariat, the state has 110,636 confirmed cases of the disease.
Last year, the level of 100 thousand cases was only reached in epidemiological week 12, ending on March 25th. We are currently in the ninth epidemiological week.
Brazil faces an increase in dengue cases this year. The Ministry of Health records 991,017 probable cases of dengue throughout the country, in addition to 207 confirmed deaths and another 674 under investigation.
The ministry will hold “D-Day” against the disease next Saturday (2). The plan is to take health agents to mosquito hotspots Aedes aegyptiwhich transmits the virus, and mobilize prevention campaigns in several cities.
