Urologist Flávio Antunes highlights that the Brazilian Society of Urology (SBU) published an opinion that points out that there is no effective confirmation on the use of penile stretching or enlargement techniques.

“Socially there is a demand on performance and also on the size of the sexual organ. Because of this charge, some take risks. These procedures have the potential to trigger very unpleasant side effects. They can lead to deformities, pain, severe nerve damage, erectile dysfunction, infections, and even penile shortening.”

There are no scientific studies that prove the credibility, safety and effectiveness of any technique or exercise taught on the internet for enlarging the male sexual organ. According to the specialist, most men who seek penis enlargement procedures have a size considered normal. The patient may have an image disorder, which is when they see their organ as being smaller than it really is.

“In this case, the professional also advises the patient to seek psychological help to understand the disorder and begin treatment. The urologist will take care of possible deformities, erectile dysfunction and infections that can be caused by the abuse of these methods”, highlights Flávio Antunes.

Basically, penile enlargement surgery is indicated for men who have micropenis, which is a rare condition in which men have a penis smaller than 4 cm. The urologist, after evaluation, may recommend surgery to enlarge the penis.

“Penis enlargement surgery has associated risks, such as an increased risk of infection, the presence of scars and deformities that can end up making an erection difficult.
