Daniel Alves’ lawyer says why the player changed testimonials

The new lawyer Daniel Alves, Cristóbal Martell, told TVE the reasons that made the player change his version about what happened at the Sutton nightclub, in Barcelona. A woman accuses the right-back of sexual assault.
Daniel Alves “was in shock” at first, according to Martell.
The athlete was trying to hide his infidelity from his wife, Joana Sanz. Hence, he initially denied that he knew the woman, but later backtracked.
According to the report, the lawyer did not agree to record an interview, but answered some questions from a TV reporter with the camera off.
Daniel Alves has been provisionally arrested in Spain since last Friday (20). He is accused of having sexually assaulted a woman at the Sutton nightclub on December 30 of the past.
No date has yet been set for the trial.
If convicted, he faces up to 12 years in prison.
The player’s defense only has until next Thursday (26) to file an appeal with the Spanish court asking for a review of the provisional arrest and parole.
He had his contract with Pumas (Mexico) terminated for cause.
