“Cultura, o Saber Popular” opens season at Bar do Boi in Manaus

The event will feature more than ten attractions including official items, toadeiros and participations
The pioneering and most traditional cultural event in Manaus, Bar do Boi Caprichoso, begins its 36th season this Saturday (6). The program begins at 10 am, with the Thanksgiving Mass that will bring together the members of Movimento Marujada, collaborators, segments of Boi Caprichoso in Manaus and guests.
The new season of Bar do Boi will take place at the Sambódromo, in the center-west of the capital, starting at 9 pm. The first event will feature shows by official items Edmundo Oran (Presenter), Patrick Araújo (Levantador de Toadas) and Marujada de Guerra, as well as toadeiros Fabiano Neves, Junior Paulain, Paulinho Viana, Márcio do Boi, Klinger Junior and Edilson Santana, and the participation of Corpo de Dança Caprichoso (CDC) Manaus, Troup Caprichoso, Raça Azul and Força Azul e Branca (FAB).
The main show of the night celebrates “Culture, Popular Knowledge” and will tell the story that marks the origins of the party – Auto do Boi – bringing the star of the party, Boi Caprichoso, and the special presence of Amo do Boi Prince of Caprichoso and Sinhazinha from Fazenda Valentina Cid, starring in the most emblematic moment of folk tradition.
“Culture is the greatest of knowledge and the triumph of the people. We are happy to start another season, writing a new page in our history, confident in the search for the third championship for Boi Caprichoso”, said Rogério Jesus, president of Movimento Marujada.
