CPI of NGOs can be installed this week in the Senate

In the coming days, the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) should begin work in the Senate. Plinio Valério (PSDB-AM), parliamentarian who is the author of the application for the installation of the CPI of NGOs, received approval for installation last week. On that occasion, the senator stated that six members had already been nominated and questioned the President of the House, Senator Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), about the possibility of installing the CPI. Pacheco signaled assent.
The application for establishment was read at the beginning of April, but until then, the leaders of the parties had not indicated the regimental number required (half of the members of the collegiate) to make possible the election of the command of the CPI. Valério should meet with the members already appointed this Tuesday (23rd), to define the alignment of the work of the CPI.
The CPI of NGOs will be composed of 11 full members and seven alternates. They will have 130 days to carry out the investigations. So far, seven starters and three alternates have been appointed to fill the vacancies.
CPI will investigate allocation of resources to NGOs
The intention of the author of the CPI request is to investigate the release, by the federal government, of public resources to NGOs, as well as the use, by these entities, of these funds and others received by them from abroad. The senator also points out that he intends to propose changes in legislation to regulate the work of NGOs and provide more transparency.
In addition, Valerá states that he will seek to improve the Amazon Fund as an instrument for preserving the environment and improving the living conditions of the population living in the Amazon.
