São Paulo city councilwoman Janaína Lima (MDB) and Santo Amaro deputy mayor, Thamyres Nagell, traveled to Belém (PA) this Friday (16th) to see the Brazilian version of an award-winning social urbanism project started in Medellín, Colombia.
The goal is to see how the Usinas da Paz work, developed in partnership with the private sector, which combine social assistance, sport, leisure and culture.
A pilot project with adaptations to the São Paulo reality should start in Santo Amaro. The idea is that audiovisual rooms, digital inclusion, medical and dental services, legal advice, document issuance, free courses and libraries work in the same space, in a total of more than 80 free services to the population.
Lima will also go to the Colombian city between July 10th and 18th for a course on the subject. She will be welcomed by the mayor of the city and by the program coordinator.
