In the final stretch for the closing of Brasil Participativo, proposals focused on improvements for categories such as community health agents, nurses, technical-administrative servants in education, municipal guards and federal highway police lead the voting on the platform.

According to the rules of the page launched in May by the Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) administration to consult the population, authors of the five most voted proposals will be invited to present their ideas during the 3rd Interconselhos Forum, held in August, in Brasília, with the presence of the president and ministers.

The government will analyze the pertinence of the 20 proposals with the most votes in each ministry (including the five at the top) and decide which ones to incorporate into the 2024-2027 pluriannual plan bill, which will then be sent to Congress by August 31. The PPA establishes the guidelines and priorities for the preparation of the Federal Budget. Voting at Brasil Participativo runs until 10 pm this Sunday (16).

On the night of this Friday (14), in first place, with more than 87,000 votes, was the proposal for technical qualification and professional enhancement of community health agents and agents to combat endemic diseases to expand health services in the SUS .

In second place, with more than 83,000 votes, was the suggestion to increase the value of the national salary floor for nursing professionals. Third place, with 74,000 votes, was occupied by the suggestion of career restructuring and salary recomposition of technical-administrative servants in Education at federal educational institutions.

With about 70,000 votes was the suggestion to include municipal guards within the public security chapter of the Federal Constitution, which would provide legal certainty for their performance, defends the proposal.

And with 67,000 votes was the increase in positions for the PRF (Federal Highway Police) and the call for all 1,455 approved in the last competition in the category.

As of Friday night, 7,600 proposals had been submitted. According to the folder informed the Sheetthe Brasil Participativo process has so far involved 1 million people.

In an interview, Minister Márcio Macêdo (General Secretariat of the Presidency) stated that public agents from other countries sought the government to understand and eventually replicate “an experience as grand and unprecedented” as this one.

“We are recovering direct democracy in the country. The population is putting their fingerprints on government planning,” he said. According to him, proposals that are left out of the budget can be used by the ministries in other ways, if the teams deem it pertinent.
