Four days before the end of the window, the Coritiba has advanced negotiations to close with two reinforcements for the start of Serie B: midfielder Yago, from Nova Iguaçu, and right-back Johnny, from Fluminense.

The information was initially released by ge.com and confirmed by OneTwo Sports.

Yago was one of Nova Iguaçu’s highlights in Carioca’s runner-up campaign. The 22-year-old midfielder is the son of former player Iranildo, who played for Flamengo and Botafogo.

The midfielder is from the Fluminense academy, the club that owns the player’s economic rights. At Nova Iguaçu, he scored three goals and three assists in 14 games this year.

In the thigh-white midfield, Yago will have stiff competition with Matheus Frizzo, Vini Paulista and Sebastián Gómez, as well as Matheus Bianqui, Jean Gabriel and Matheus Dias.

Full-back Johny, aged 21, was featured in Copinha 2023. He had already made his professional debut for Tricolor in 2022, but was loaned to Bragantino, where he played for the under-23 team.

This season, the full-back played just one game for Flu, against Audax-RJ, for Carioca. At Coxa, he will compete for the position with Natanel.

In the current window, Coritiba announced only one reinforcement so far, midfielder Morelli, who was at Maringá. The transfer period in Brazilian football closes this Friday (19).

Alviverde debuts this Sunday (21) in the Second Division, against Ponte Preta, in Campinas, at 6pm.
