The groups of São Paulo Junior Football Cup were defined this Wednesday (22), in São Paulo. There are 128 teams, which are divided into 32 venues. The representatives from Paraná are Athletico, Coritiba, Operário and Patriotas. Furacão fell into Group 2, based in the city of Catanduva, and will face the teams from Catanduva (SP), Portuguesa (RJ) and Sparta (TO). Coxa will play against Juventus-SP, Monte Azul-SP and Canaã-DF, in Group 31, in the capital of São Paulo, at the Juventus da Mooca stadium.
Fantasma is in Group 9, based in Tupã, and faces Tupã-SP, Atlético-GO and Guarani. Finally, Patriotas, a team from Curitiba, entered Group 22 along with Taubaté, Cuiabá and Inter de Limeira-SP, and will play in Taubaté in the first phase. The table with the dates and times of the games will be published in the coming days.
The country’s main grassroots competition continues with the same competition formula as in previous years. The best two from each group will qualify for the knockout stage, which will be decided in a single game until the big decision. In case of a draw, the match will be decided on penalties.

Just like in 2022, the Paraná Club is out of contention for the São Paulo Junior Football Cup. At the time, Tricolor had been left out after 17 consecutive years of participation in the dispute. This year, Paraná only participated in the Copinha due to an invitation from the São Paulo Football Federation. Find out what the criteria were for choosing the teams from Paraná.
