Conservatives celebrate results for the BH Guardianship Council

The mobilization of conservative groups in the Guardianship Council elections in Belo Horizonte (MG) produced results considered significant. Based on the result, released this Wednesday (6), a survey of conservative representation groups carried out at the request of the People’s Gazette points out that, of the 54 elected, around 30 are conservative and Christian.

The elections for the Guardian Council of the capital of Minas Gerais were preceded by confusion. Closed across the country, the process continued in Belo Horizonte after the result of the first vote was annulled, alleging a discrepancy in the number of votes. At the request of the Public Defender’s Office of Minas Gerais, which received reports of slowness, queues and interruptions in the voting process, the city hall announced new elections, scheduled for the 3rd.

One of the founders and coordinators of the “Mães Direitas” group, Claudia Diniz, stated that on the day of the second vote the problems did not occur again: there were no significant queues or delays. “The investigation process was efficient and transparent. We all win with this decision”, she assesses.

She commented that, since the beginning of the campaign, many mothers were worried about meeting the candidates. “Thanks to God and to the tireless work of parents in our city, it was possible for us to identify good names in all the regions and we obtained a significant victory – even historic – in all of them”, highlights Claudia.

She said she will follow the work of elected councilors to make sure that children and teenagers are protected. “From the election that took place in October – and which was annulled – to this one last Sunday, we noticed an even better performance from candidates aligned with our values. This demonstrates that nothing will stop conservative families from BH from continuing to participate and occupy important spaces in our municipality.”

Annulled election served as new motivation for conservative groups in BH

Luciana Haas, president of the Guardians of Childhood and Youth Association of Belo Horizonte, stated that it is difficult to know the exact number of conservatives and Christians elected in the Belo Horizonte Guardianship Council election. In a general assessment, according to her, this number is around 30 of the total of 54 elected. “We have a very positive assessment of the results of the elections in BH. The October election was canceled, which could have left conservatives feeling discouraged. However, what we realized is that it was the opposite,” she reports.

“From what we saw, many of the candidates they supported won the race and will be looking out for the best interests of those who are the most vulnerable and who need to be safe from evil attacks in the coming years”, adds Luciana.

The president of the Guardians of Childhood and Youth Association of BH explains that the organization worked to raise awareness about the functioning and relevance of the work in the Guardianship Council. “In recent months we have made an effort to raise awareness among the population about the need to know who will, over the next four years, protect the rights of children, adolescents and families”.

The association mobilized citizens to go to the polls and vote for candidates aligned with the values ​​and principles they believe in. “As an association, the Guardians did not nominate names, we just gave freedom to their members and supporters to make nominations.”

According to Luciana, the biggest concern with the election of the council is the protection of children and adolescents. “What we cannot allow is that malicious people use this space, the guardianship council, to apply ideologies that make children guinea pigs for social experiments and they take away from families their right, guaranteed by law, for their children to receive a moral education that is in accordance with their convictions”, he highlights.
