CONMEBOL announced this Thursday (6) the dates, times and locations of the round-of-16 clashes of the Copa Libertadores round-of-16. Brazilian clubs will play on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from the 1st to the 9th of August. Only the first leg between Argentinos Juniors and Fluminense continues with undefined city and stadium. According to the Argentine authority that supervises the capacity of the stadiums, the certificate of the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona is lower than the minimum of 20,000 seats required by Conmebol for the holding of the round of 16 of the continental competition.
On Wednesday (05), Conmebol held the draw of matches and also the draw until the end of the competition. The team that advances to the quarterfinals will pocket US$ 1.7 million – the equivalent of R$ 8.9 million. This year’s Copa Libertadores final will take place at Maracanã, on November 4 (Saturday). The winner will receive a prize of US$ 18 million (R$ 94.5 million).
