Congress prepares series of defeats for government

– Episode of the 15 Minutos podcast analyzes the possibility of overturning Lula’s (PT) vetoes in the National Congress

*) There are only a few days of work left for deputies and senators until the end of the year recess. But the weeks promise to be hot.

There are, for example, the hearings of Lula’s (PT) nominees for the STF, Flávio Dino, and the PGR, Paulo Gonet.

But there is also a joint session of the National Congress, bringing together deputies and senators, to evaluate vetoes made by the President of the Republic on projects approved by the Legislature. And from this session, new defeats for the government should emerge.

On the agenda are Lula’s vetoes to the time frame, the payroll tax exemption, the fiscal framework and the law that reestablished Carf’s “qualifying vote”. There is intense mobilization in Congress to overthrow at least the first two.

That’s what we talk about in this episode of the 15 Minutos podcast. The guest to talk about the subject is Tatiana Azevedo, from the República da Gazeta do Povo team in Brasília, who writes a report on the topic.
