Silves’ coffee culture was recognized nationally in the International Coffee Week (SIC)
Through public policies developed by state deputy João Luiz (Republicans), Silves’ coffee culture was recognized nationally at the International Coffee Week (SIC), in Belo Horizonte (MG).
“It is a great joy to contribute to coffee producers in the municipality of Silves, through our mandate and parliamentary amendments, which were implemented by Governor Wilson Lima. The national and international recognition of farmer Roque Lins, president of the Associação Solidariedade Amazonas (ASA), further strengthens family farming in the state”, said deputy João Luiz.
The president of ASA, Roque Lins highlights that he participated in the SIC, through an invitation to the Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil (CNA) to showcase the coffee culture in the interior of the state of Amazonas.
“I cannot fail to thank the support given to ASA farmers by state deputy João Luiz, coffee ambassador in Amazonas, the Government of Amazonas, Sepror (Secretariat of State for Rural Production), Idam (Institute of Sustainable Agricultural and Forestry Development of State of Amazonas), Embrapa (Brazilian Agricultural Research Company) and the company Eneva”, stated Roque Lins.
Amendments
Throughout his term in the Legislative Assembly of the State of Amazonas (Aleam), state deputy João Luiz allocated R$600,000 to coffee cultivation, in tax amendments, which benefited farmers with seedlings and a truck to transport the products.
Recognition
Coffee from Silves was sent in 2022 to producers in Portugal and is also being resold to Brazilian companies.
