Coach Cuca takes players “baths” and says he will give Osorio a medal

After the title of Athletico of Paranaense 2024 champion, the coach Cuca took the players’ traditional “bath” during the press conference. The coach, an admitted Furacão fan, ended the press conference after the party.

The athletes even spared the coach and did not take the traditional box full of ice water, but just bottles and glasses of water. With shouts of “he’s a champion”, the coach, who had only answered two complete questions, left the press room all wet.

Cuca took over Athletico after Osorio’s dismissal and completed six wins in six games at the helm of the team. It’s his best start since Flamengo in 2009.

Cuca celebrates his first title and says he will give a medal to Osorio

In one of the responses, Cuca shared the merits and dedicated the champion’s medal to coach Osorio, who led Athletico for 12 matches this season. The coach said he will send the prize directly to the Colombian.

“Very happy. Without a doubt, it has a different taste, because it is the club of my heart and as a fan I didn’t get to see Athletico champion. It was difficult times in the 1970s. It was only after I left the city to play that the club returned to win titles. So, it was a great emotion to be champion with my fans”, he stated.

“But I can’t help but share this title with Juan Carlos Osorio and his coaching staff, who led the team for most of this campaign. I’m going to send my medal straight to him. And not in a figurative sense, I’m going to send it to him same,” he added.

After the State Cup, Athletico changes championships and starts focusing on the South American Championship. Furacão hosts Rayo Zuliano on Tuesday (9), at 9:30 pm, again at the Ligga Arena, for the second round.
