Governor Clécio Luís launched this Wednesday, 17th, in the auditorium of the Sacaca Museum, the ‘Amapá Sem Fome’ program, which aims to serve the population in a situation of food insecurity. The initiative aims to take the state off the hunger map.

Present at the ceremony, in addition to the state manager, was Senator Davi Alcolumbre; secretary Aline Gurgel; president of Sebrae-AP, Josiel Alcolumbre; leaders of security forces, such as the Military Police and Fire Department; and the CEO of Agência Amapá, economist Jurandil Juarez, among others.

The program is part of a set of social actions that seek access to quality meals for people in food and nutritional vulnerability, in situations of poverty and in extreme poverty, such as Vale Gás Social, Food Card and nutritional kits for children.

We are launching a government program that is only possible because of the resources allocated by Senator Davi and Representative Aline Gurgel. There are 24 million reais that will bring food and food to the tables of those who need it in a country that from 2020 to 2022 doubled its food insecure population”said Clécio.

The governor also reported that in Amapá 13% of the population is hungry. “It’s not food insecurity, it’s hunger,” lamented. “It is for these people that this program was created, which brings together everything that is most modern in social, food and nutritional assistance policies; there is a food kit that will be delivered by companies where the state does not reach”celebrated the manager.

I’m very satisfied with the program, but we want to surpass what we have today; improve so that people no longer have a food card to have a work card”added the governor.

The people of Amapá trusted and placed hope in our mandate. Today we are increasingly excited about the transformations taking place in the state in all areas. Development is crucial to improving the business environment in Amapá and promoting employment and income. A signed work card is the best social program we can present to people”said Davi Alcolumbre.

The program is coordinated by the State Secretariat for Social Assistance, together with the Food and Nutritional Security Council, and the Intersectoral Chamber of Food and Nutritional Security.
