The governor of Amapá, Clécio Luís, is among the five best-rated state managers in the country, according to research released this Saturday, 6, by AtlasIntel Institute, second only to Ronaldo Caiado (GO), Wanderlei Barbosa (TO), Antonio Denarium (RR) and Jorginho Mello (SC).

Clécio Luís, according to the results of the AtlasIntel survey, has a 62% positive government rating. The best rated manager, Ronaldo Caiado (GO), has 72%, ahead of Wanderlei Barbosa, from Tocantins, who has 69%; Antonio Denarium (RR), 66%; and Jorginho Melo, from Santana Catarina, 65%.

The ruler of Amapá, who for the first time occupies the Palácio do Setentrião, seat of the state government, prioritizes health, public safety and education, sectors that have made considerable progress in this first year of administration.

Clécio Luís’ management managed to radically change the physical presentation of the Macapá Emergency Hospital, as well as the form of care on site, which was previously deficient in personnel and equipment. The same work was carried out at Hcal and other government health facilities in the capital.

Santana, Oiapoque, Porto Grande and Laranjal do Jari in less than a year changed health care in the state public network for the better. Santana, the second largest municipality in the state, is about to have the largest hospital complex in the north of the country.

In the public security sector, with new methods of repressing communication between prisoners at Iapen, the state government managed to reduce crime outside the prison walls by 50%. The end of year festivities had absolutely no serious incidents.

Governor Clécio, in fulfillment of the election campaign promise that led him to the North, unified the security forces operating in the state, including the support of the Federal Police. The measure has been highly positive in the fight against organized crime.

In education, which has many deficiencies, the Clécio government maintained the 2023 school calendar, despite the consequences resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic, and now for 2024 it expands the number of grades whose students will be able to enter the full-time regime and schools shared management with the Military Police and Fire Department.

Clécio Luís, to make education in the state flow better, had to partner with some municipalities, an experience that worked. He explains that the sector has not made much progress due to Amapá not receiving funds from Fundeb, for bureaucratic reasons, but that this is being taken care of.
