As part of the policy to reinforce the protection of Amapá and the Amazon, Governor Clécio Luís guaranteed the integration of the state’s defense forces to the Police Cooperation Center (CCP) for the protection of the border between Brazil and French Guiana, acting together with the Federal Police and the Border Police and Gendarmerie of France.
The inclusion of agents from Amapá in the CCP, which now includes representatives of the Military and Civil Police and the Fire Department, was ratified during the 12th Meeting of the Mixed Cross-Border Commission Brazil-France, this Tuesday, 4th, in Cayenne.
“In addition, we have a lot to cooperate with in public safety. Let’s put three officers [PM, PC e Bombeiro] to participate in the Police Cooperation Center, working with the integration of these police forces and their intelligence, to guarantee more effective results in the fight against crime in this border strip, defending Amapá and French Guiana, as well as the Amazon”emphasized the governor.
The international partnership will ensure joint action in operations, exchange of information between CCP members, reinforcing police action in protecting citizens and combating criminal groups.

After four years, the Mixed Commission for Cross-Border Cooperation Brazil/France resumed face-to-face activities, under the coordination of the Government of Amapá and articulation of the State Secretariat for International Relations and Foreign Trade in partnership with Itamaraty.
Brazil is present at the international event with Governor Clécio Luís; the head of the Department of Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Flavio Goldman; and delegations from the state of Amapá and the federal government.
The meeting is dealing with demands in the areas of health, education, the environment, trade and diplomatic relations, the BR-156 highway, among other issues that impact the lives of those who live on both sides of the border.
