With the technical cooperation agreement, it will also be possible to speed up the accountability process

The City of Manaus, through the Manaus Solidária Fund (FMS), in partnership with Banco do Brasil, signed, this Friday (16), the “Term of Cooperation for the BB Gestão Ágil Program – Banco do Brasil”. The agreement is the first in the North region and aims to reduce bureaucracy and strengthen the third sector.

For the president of the FMS, Emerson Castro, the initiative will, mainly, provide more fluidity and reduce the bureaucratic process when it comes to opening accounts for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), which have a partnership with the body.

“We will facilitate the opening of accounts for Civil Society Organizations and make this process less bureaucratic. Previously, institutions needed more than 15 days to open an account, now, we ourselves will make this communication with Banco do Brasil so that we can pass the appeal and continue the process”,

Castro said.

In three years of management, the FMS has increasingly strengthened the third sector through public notices aimed at CSOs. With the technical cooperation agreement, it will also be possible to speed up the accountability process.

According to the general manager of Banco do Brasil’s public sector agency, Raimundo Baia, the agreement, agreed between the financial institution and the Manaus Solidária Fund, brings an important milestone for the North region of the country.

“This technical cooperation agreement is the first formalized contract in the North of the country, therefore the Manaus Solidária Fund is a pioneer. An accountability platform will be made available through the Banco do Brasil system, where the beneficiary will be able to account directly to the Fund, using this platform”,

declared Baia.

According to the president and founder of the Associação Mãos Amigas Fortalecendo a Família (Amaff), Cleonice Feitosa, who has been working in the third sector for 24 years, this partnership only adds to the organizations’ daily lives.

“We had a lot of difficulty opening accounts at banks and with this facility, now, it will improve a lot, especially because we will avoid having to knock on bank doors. The Manaus Solidária Fund, which will intervene in our favor and with this we will benefit, I thought this partnership was very important”, he concluded.
