City Hall promotes the Triburbanos seminar to discuss urban art and its importance to society

Manaus (AM) – On Sunday, 6/25, from 1 pm to 7 pm, the City Hall of Manaus holds the seminar “Triburbanos – Street Art” to discuss urban art with artists, academics, urban planners and public authorities. The event will be held at the Povos da Amazônia Cultural Center, in the Industrial District, south zone, and was contemplated in the public notice Program Manaus Faz Cultura, of the Municipal Foundation of Culture, Tourism and Events (Manauscult), via the Municipal Council of Culture (Concultura).

The event is organized by the Amazônia Association of Artistic Production, Organization and Incentives (Apoiar), in partnership with Dabacuri Produções.

Some of the topics that will be discussed at the Triburbanos – Street Art seminar are: “What are the impacts of Urban Art on social inclusion, on the city experience and on urban development?”; “Does Urban Art keep the city more alive and beautiful?”; “How to better promote artists and Urban Art and how to encourage gender equality in the area?”.

The CEO of Manauscult, Osvaldo Cardoso, highlighted the importance of training events. “It has never been so urgent to discuss public policies in the country, especially for the cultural sector. It is important that everyone is attentive and following our actions and, above all, participating with opinions and suggestions. We are open to dialogue and working not only to encourage but also to form. In the coming weeks, we will open new cultural training courses, ”he said.

For the president of Concultura, Tenório Telles, the cultural debate is fundamental in the process of building new paths for the city’s culture. “The Manaus Faz Cultura public notice was designed with this purpose in mind, to provide reflective moments and artistic practices that contribute to forming new talents and consolidating the work of professionals who help keep artistic activity alive in Manaus”,

Urban art

To talk to local artists, the plastic artist and graffiti artist Paulo Ito and the Italian curator and cultural producer, based in São Paulo, Giulia Lupo, will be participating online.

In addition to local discussions on public policies for the area, norms for the use of public space, one of the objectives of the seminar is to focus on the issue of the job market for these artists.

Paulo Ito will speak on the theme “Do you work or just paint?” and Giullia Lupo on “How to become a professional artist in the urban art market?”.

The event, which will have free admission, will bring together artists, academics, managers and urban planners to discuss the importance of street art for the city. Participants will receive a certificate of participation. Giveaways and a full scholarship for the free, online course by producer Giullia Lupo will be raffled off.
