Festival offers free classes with national and international artists

Manaus (AM) – The Amazonas Green Jazz Festival, considered the largest jazz festival in Latin America, will offer free lectures and masterclasses given by the stars of the event, from July 21st to 29th, at Teatro Gebes Medeiros, located on Avenida Eduardo Ribeiro, in the center of Manaus. The first masterclass will be with musician Nadje Noordhuis, on July 21 (Friday), from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm, presenting techniques and teachings on trumpet. She teaches at the Manhattan School of Music, Berklee College of Music, Hunter College and maintains a private studio where she teaches musicians from around the world.

On the same day, from 5 pm to 6:30 pm, it is the turn of another international artist, Natalie Cressman, who is an American singer, songwriter and trombonist. She will present a masterclass on trombone.

On July 22 (Saturday), from 10 am to 12 pm, Fernanda Mattos, based in Rio de Janeiro, will give a masterclass on scenic lighting. She is a master and doctoral student in performing arts, has extensive experience in the area and is responsible for lighting the festival’s shows.

And on July 23 (Sunday), from 11 am to 12:30 pm, the class will be in charge of the American guitarist Jonathan Kreisberg who, in his career, has worked with the New World Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas.

One of the most important drummers in history for dominating, like few others, the vocabulary of jazz and Afro-Cuban music with versatility, Ignacio Berroa, will give a masterclass on drums, on July 26th (Wednesday), from 10am to 12pm .
