Manaus (AM) – The Government of the State of Amazonas, through the Secretariat for Culture and Creative Economy, will carry out the Exchange of Books and Comic Books, which will take place on June 25, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Public Library, located at Rua Barroso, nº 57, Centro.
The event is open to the public, and seeks to promote an interaction between knowledge and culture, leading people to share experiences and stories with each other.
In addition to the literary meeting, the public will also be able to enjoy a special space for children, where they can explore children’s books, and be in a welcoming and fun environment, helping and stimulating the imagination of young readers.
Another differential of the program will be the monitored visits, which will allow people to explore the history, architecture and collection of the Public Library, guided by local monitors.
In the spirit of the bovine season, an exhibition will still be taking place in the premises in honor of the Parintins Folk Festival. The library features a special display of books and newspapers about this traditional Amazonian festival, providing visitors with an immersion in the regional culture.
The Secretary of Culture and Creative Economy Marcos Apolo Muniz emphasizes the importance of initiatives like this one to encourage culture and reading for the population.
“The event aims, mainly, to awaken in people the habit and taste for reading, which brings countless benefits, including the intellectual and cultural enrichment that the practice brings”,
reiterated the Secretary.
