The 20 mayors of the MRC (metropolitan region of Campinas) created this Friday (16) a technical committee to face spotted fever.
- The group will discuss and propose joint actions and will also have the participation of the state Health Department and Epidemiological Surveillance.
The decision was taken during a meeting this Friday morning of the Development Council of the MRC. The suggestion came from the mayor of Campinas, Dário Saadi, and was accepted unanimously. “That way we will be more efficient in facing this disease”, he said.
The Department of Health Surveillance (Devisa) of Campinas will make a presentation on the current scenario.
The cities of Jundiaí and Santa Isabel reported six more suspected cases of spotted fever linked to Campinas. According to the city halls, the patients are people who were at the Santa Margarida farm, where two events took place, on May 27th and June 3rd, with an agglomeration of thousands of people.
