Ciro Gomes (PDT) is going to meet this Thursday (27) with the Minister of Social Security, Carlos Lupi, president of his party.
The team of the former president, who came fourth in the 2022 elections, asked that the meeting not be included in the official agenda of the minister. Ciro was a harsh critic of Lula and the PT during last year’s election campaign, when he accused the party of leading left-wing fascism in Brazil.
In the second round, he declared support for the PT against Jair Bolsonaro (PL), but did not engage in the campaign.
Since the elections, Ciro has avoided commenting on national politics. On April 15, he made his first public appearance since then, during a PDT event in Fortaleza, Ceará, when he restricted his speech to the local context and advocated that José Sarto run again for mayor of the city in 2024.
