CFM wants to know doctors’ opinions on compulsory Covid vaccination

The Federal Council of Medicine (CFM) opened a survey to find out doctors’ opinions on the mandatory vaccination against Covid-19 in children aged 6 months to 4 years and 11 months.

According to a statement from the entity, the result of the research “is essential to enrich the analysis (on the topic) and contribute to future decision-making”.

On the page where the research is being carried out, the CFM informs that “the data will always be used as part of the investigation and in a grouped manner, without the possibility of identification”.

The Covid-19 vaccine has become mandatory for children aged 6 months to 5 years since January 1, 2024 by decision of the Ministry of Health, which imposed the vaccine despite the lack of medical consensus on the need for immunization of children , considered a low-risk group.

The Ministry’s decision also does not take into account the constant medical warnings about the risks of inoculating children with anti-Covid serum.

According to the government’s determination, parents who do not vaccinate their children may lose social benefits, such as Bolsa Família, or even be penalized by paying a fine.

In the Chamber of Deputies, a bill that provides for up to a year of detention for parents who do not vaccinate their children advanced in 2023. In the Senate, proposals with even greater punishments are also being discussed. The texts gain more strength with the interest of pharmaceutical companies that invest to directly influence parliamentarians.

After the government’s imposition to inoculate children, opposition deputies presented an urgent request to process the proposal that aims to overturn the mandatory vaccination against Covid-19 for children under 5 years of age.

The Legislative Decree Project (PDL) 487/2023 was authored by deputy Paulo Bilynskyj (PL-SP) and was presented in December 2023. The urgency regime dispenses with some regulatory formalities, such as the need to analyze the matter in committees.
