CBF does not think about Jorge Jesus and sees external lobby for ex-Flamengo

Jorge Jesus is not in the current plans of the CBF to be the new coach of the Brazilian national team. The entity intends to concentrate efforts on trying to convince the Italian Carlo Ancelottifrom Real Madrid, although the scenario is not simple.

CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues treats the possibility of closing with Jorge Jesus as part of a series of unfounded news on the subject.

The CBF follows from a distance movements that it considers lobbying around the coach, who gave an interview over the weekend saying that he wants to train Brazil. Mister is out of contract at the end of the season at Fenerbahçe, in Türkiye.

“Who wouldn’t want to coach Brazil? Only if I were coaching Real Madrid or Barcelona. Am I available to take on a team? Few, but it could be a possibility. I would only accept teams that could win titles”, stated the coach of the Fenerbahçe.

Former Brazilian national team goalkeeper Julio Cesar traveled to Lisbon, in Portugal, and met with the Portuguese coach. Julio Cesar reinforced the lobby again to try to place Jorge Jesus as “plan B” for the selection, in case Ancelotti does not close, according to Bruno Andrade reported in De Primeira.

The former goalkeeper knows that Jorge Jesus is not in Turkey and, therefore, met with the coach at the weekend; He did this without any power of attorney from the CBF and the idea is to participate as an intermediary, in case there is a gap. The conversation was informal.

Ednaldo keeps the promise that in June, in the next match of the national team, he will already have a coach hired. The margin of error (and time) is reduced.

Ednaldo already gave a deadline that he did not meet. He said during the Cup that, in January, he would define Tite’s replacement. However, later, he started to adopt the discourse that he can use time in his favor, thinking about the complete cycle until the 2026 World Cup.
