A well-known face to MMA and jiu-jitsu fans, Antônio Cara de Sapato is gaining fans who have never seen his fight. With a good-natured personality, the man from Paraíba is one of the highlights of the current edition of Big Brother Brasil. For those who know him from the world of martial arts, nothing new; for those who have a stereotyped view of fighters, a big surprise.

To analyze the success of the jiu-jitsu world champion, PFL and The Ultimate Fighter Brasil on the BBB, we spoke with Leticia Felisberto, relationship specialist, businesswoman and co-founder of Universidade de Homens (UH). One of the points addressed by her is the politeness and cordiality shown by the fighter on a daily basis, characteristics that are increasingly valued in society.

“Cordiality, politeness and respect for others are fundamental values in any society. I believe that these values are built by a set of factors, including education, culture, personal experiences and their interpersonal relationships. Unfortunately, the quoted values are increasingly impressive because these attributes are becoming increasingly rare in an increasingly accelerated, individualistic and scarce world of self-knowledge”, evaluates the expert.

Letícia also believes that the fact that most people who watch the reality show don’t know fighters in depth ends up impressing new Cara de Sapato fans even more.

“It is possible that a friendly fighter impresses those who are not used to following fighters. This happens because, in general, people have a stereotyped image of fighters as ‘tough skins’. shocking when we find someone who differs from this image”, he explains.

Last Tuesday, the 14th, Antônio Cara de Sapato reached 1 million followers on Instagram, proving that, so far, he has been presenting himself in a positive way within the program. According to Leticia Felisberto, the brand is not only relevant for the fighter, but for the entire fight community.

“If a fighter positions himself positively, in a cordial, polite and respectful way (mainly on national television), he can inspire people to do the same, creating a healthy environment, with great relationships, which can impact society in a more wide. Therefore, it is important that fighters, as well as all people, position themselves in a cordial, polite and respectful way, as this can have a positive impact on society as a whole. And with that we come to the conclusion that virtuous men and Men are not aggressive, antisocial or anything like that. They are brave, polite and kind”, concluded the relationship expert.
