Cannabis concept store opens in SP – 12/09/2023 – Cannabis Inc.

In the USA, a dispensary is the name for places specializing in the controlled sale of products derived from Cannabis. In Brazil there is still nothing similar. For this reason, a store opened in the Pinheiros neighborhood, called “ODispensary”, in São Paulo, has been attracting attention. The point has nothing to do with American establishments, but it has a difference: it offers a curation of products from the world of Cannabis. Right at the entrance, there is a counter with benches, where visitors can try coffees, snacks, chocolates and beers.

All of these products contain terpenes – essential oils extracted from the plant that give different aromas. There are more than 100 of them in Cannabis. Each one has a strong and unmistakable personality, without THC (tetrahydrocannabidiol) or CBD (Cannabidiol). They don’t come cheap. Terpenes have therapeutic properties and are therefore also present in medicinal oils, where they act as enhancers. In foods, they function more as flavor enhancers.

The store can give an idea of ​​the strength that the plant derivatives market is beginning to have. There are clothes made with hemp fiber, articles aimed at cultivation such as greenhouses, seeds and nutrients, as well as tobacco products. Despite being new to the capital of São Paulo, this is the owners’ second store. “The first store was set up in Brasília, last year”, says Fernando Santiago, 42 years old, one of the partners. “There, we brought together 77 products, but the potential of the São Paulo market is much greater. In the new store, we managed to get almost twice as many items.”
