Even after the impeachment of Deltan Dallagnol (PR), leaders of PSDB and Podemos do not see much chance of the talks for the federation between the two parties taking off.
The former prosecutor was one of the biggest obstacles to the agreement, due to the history of Lava Jato against Toucan leaders in Paraná, especially the former governor and current federal deputy Beto Richa.
In theory, the weakening of Deltan could clear the way for the federation, but the president of Podemos, Renata Abreu, had already announced, in early May, that she was pausing the conversation with the toucans and investing in an agreement with the PSC.
Richa claims that it will not be an obstacle, however, to new conversations. “I have serious problems with Deltan, I was persecuted by this guy, who wanted to remove me from politics. But the party’s interest is above my personal problems”, says the toucan.
