Federal deputy Deltan Dallagnol (Podemos-PR), impeached by the TSE (Superior Electoral Court), said this Sunday (21), in a demonstration by supporters, that he will fight for a country in which “the place of corruption is not in the Presidency of the Republic “.

“As long as there is blood flowing in these veins, I will fight for our country, I will fight for you. Now I want to invite you to fight together, because my strength is your strength,” he said during an act against the impeachment of his mandate held in in front of the headquarters of the Federal Public Ministry, in the center of Curitiba.

Among the organizers of the demonstration were the local section of the MBL (Movimento Brasil Livre) and the Curitiba movement against Corruption. The headquarters of Operation Lava Jato was located at the MPF headquarters, a task force coordinated by Deltan when he was acting as a public prosecutor.

In a speech on top of a sound car, he said that “they want to steal our voice, but we are going to fight for justice”.

Several supporters wore black or green and yellow clothing and carried Brazilian flags.

Videos released on social networks show the former prosecutor singing the national anthem, carried by supporters and hearing the announcer screams like “together with Deltan” and “Lula, thief, your place is in prison”.

“The Republic of Curitiba is alive. Curitiba does not have the germ of fascism, Curitiba has the germ of democracy, honesty, integrity and the fight against corruption”, he said, in an apparent response to Minister Gilmar Mendes, of the STF, who in In an interview with Roda Viva (Cultura), in May, he stated that the city “has the germ of fascism” and spawned former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

The registration of the candidacy and, consequently, the deputy’s mandate was unanimously revoked by the TSE last week.

The action is a result of representation from the Brazilian Federation of Hope (PT, PC do B and PV) and from the PMN, who alleged that Deltan could not have left his career as a public prosecutor to enter politics because he responded to investigations, disciplinary complaints and requests for measures from the CNMP (National Council of the Public Prosecutor’s Office), which supervises the functional duties of the members of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Appeal is possible. The case, ultimately, may reach the STF (Federal Supreme Court).
