Bank denied news that tariff would reach individuals

As of July 19th, legal entities that are customers of Caixa Econômica Federal will start paying to make Pix. Authorized by the Central Bank (BC), the collection of fees for entrepreneurs who use the instant transfer system is practiced by most banks, but it was not done by Caixa.

In a note, the bank denied false news that circulated this Monday (18) that the tariff would reach other types of customers. Caixa highlighted that individuals, individual micro-entrepreneurs (MEI) and beneficiaries of social programs will continue to do Pix without charge.

“The practice [tarifação do Pix para pessoas jurídicas] it has already been carried out by other financial institutions and authorized by the Pix Arrangement since November 2020, according to BCB Resolution No. 30/2020 ”, justified Caixa in a note.

The statement also reported that the rate to be applied to companies that make Pix will be one of the lowest on the market. The bank, the statement said, remains committed to offering customers the best conditions for its products and services.
