Brazil records 84 deaths from dengue, says Ministry of Health

The number of deaths from dengue in Brazil reached 84, according to the latest update from the Ministry of Health’s Monitoring Panel, this Wednesday (14). In total, 524,066 probable cases of the disease were recorded in the country.

According to the Ministry of Health, the highest incidence of probable cases occurs between the ages of 30-39 and 40-49 years, with 55,854 registered in women and 46,920 in men, of the cases already confirmed.

The national average of these probable cases points to 258 per 100 thousand inhabitants. In addition, 346 deaths are currently being investigated to find out whether they are related to dengue.

In absolute numbers, the Federal District has so far recorded the highest number of confirmed deaths with 20 deaths and another 60 under investigation, followed by Minas Gerais, with 16 deaths, Paraná, with 15 and São Paulo, with 9.
