The Brazilian team already knows its opponents in the first phase of the next edition of the Olympic women’s football tournament. A draw held this Wednesday (20) in Paris (France) determined that Brazil will be part of Group C alongside current world champion Spain, Japan and an African team: Nigeria or South Africa.

Considering the performance of the teams in the last World Cup, held in 2023 in Australia and New Zealand, the team led by the coach Arthur Elias will have a great challenge to seek the unprecedented Olympic gold, as they will face a Spanish team that has just won a women’s World Cup, a Japan that reached the quarterfinals and an opponent from Africa that reached the round of 16. Brazil did not make it past the group stage.

Group A of the Olympic tournament will be made up of hosts France, Colombia, Canada and New Zealand, while Group B will feature the USA, Germany, Australia and an African opponent: Zambia or Morocco.
