The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) held a draw, this Tuesday afternoon (2), to define the confrontations of the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil. Among the matches defined, the one that most calls attention is the classic between Flamengo and Fluminense, the two teams that decided the last edition of the Carioca Championship.
The current Brazilian champion Palmeiras will face Fortaleza, while Atlético-MG will measure forces with Corinthians. Sport, the only Serie B team that is still alive in the competition, will have São Paulo as an opponent.
Cruzeiro, the biggest champion in the history of the Copa do Brasil (with six victories), takes on the second biggest winner of the event, Grêmio (five victories). Botafogo, current leader of the Brazilian, faces Athletico-PR.
The eighth finals of the Copa do Brasil are completed: América-MG x Internacional and Santos x Bahia. The 16 classified clubs compete for the prize of R$ 4.3 million for those who make it to the quarterfinals. The round of 16 games will be played on the 17th and 31st of May.
